1997-P Kennedy Half Dollar BU
The 1997 Kennedy half dollar stands as a classic example of modern United States coinage, struck at the Philadelphia Mint. This particular coin is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, showcasing the sharp details of its original manufacture. Its physical composition consists of a outer layer of copper and nickel bonded securely to a core of pure copper. On the obverse, the coin displays the left-facing profile of President John F. Kennedy, a design created by Gilroy Roberts. This side features the traditional inscriptions of "IN GOD WE TRUST" along with the 1997 date. The mint mark "P" is also visible, indicating its origin at the Philadelphia facility. The reverse side presents the heraldic eagle design by Frank Gasparro. The eagle is depicted holding a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing both strength and peace. The design is framed by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "HALF DOLLAR", alongside the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM".
