Struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1997, this twenty-five cent piece represents a beautiful marriage of precious metal and classic American coinage. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains approximately 0.1808 troy ounces of the precious metal. It is preserved in exceptional Proof condition, a state that highlights the sharp contrast between the frosted design elements and the deep, mirror-like background fields. The obverse of the coin displays the familiar left-facing portrait of George Washington, a design originally created by John Flanagan.
