1999 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle MS-69 PCGS

0.5000 troy oz .9167 1999 MS-69 (PCGS)

Introduced in 1999, this twenty-five dollar American Gold Eagle is struck from a half-ounce of gold, representing a classic fusion of historic and modern American numismatic art. The piece is certified in a near-flawless Mint State 69, highlighting the exceptional preservation of its intricate details. The obverse presents a famous depiction of Lady Liberty walking forward, her figure illuminated by the rays of a rising sun. This design is adapted from the early twentieth-century double eagle created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, widely considered one of the most beautiful images in the history of United States coinage. On the reverse, a detailed scene designed by Miley Busiek depicts a male bald eagle carrying an olive branch back to a nest where a female eagle and her young wait. The reverse also displays the traditional national mottos, including the phrases E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST, alongside the coin's face value and metal weight.
