1999 Australia 2 oz Silver Kookaburra BU

2.0000 troy oz .999 1999 Brilliant Unc

This impressive two-ounce silver release from 1999 showcases Australia's famous native bird life. The reverse side, created by designer Sara Langridge, features a pair of kookaburras resting together on a tree branch. This detailed wildlife scene is accompanied by inscriptions denoting the coin's weight, its ninety-nine point nine percent silver purity, and the year of issue. The obverse displays the classic right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials appear below the portrait. Surrounding the royal likeness are inscriptions indicating the issuing nation, Australia, along with the official two-dollar face value. Produced at the Perth Mint, this sovereign coin had a limited mintage of just 20,602 pieces, making it a particularly notable entry in the long-running Kookaburra series.
