0.1209 troy oz .900 Brilliant Unc

The United States quarter eagle represents a classic era of American coinage. Minted from 1840 to 1907, this coin is struck from 90 percent pure gold, containing 0.12094 troy ounces of the precious metal. These pieces were produced across various historic mint facilities, including Philadelphia, Charlotte, Dahlonega, New Orleans, and San Francisco. Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the obverse of the coin features a left-facing portrait of Liberty. Her hair is bound by a band inscribed with the word "LIBERTY," and she is encircled by thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The reverse features a detailed heraldic eagle bearing a shield upon its breast. Surrounding the central eagle are the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the face value of "2 1/2 D." representing the two and a half dollar denomination.
