0.1209 troy oz .900 MS-64 (PCGS &/or NGC)

The United States Quarter Eagle, struck in 90 percent pure gold, represents a classic era of American coinage spanning from 1840 to 1907. Produced by the United States Mint across various historic facilities, including Philadelphia, Charlotte, Dahlonega, New Orleans, and San Francisco, this denomination contains 0.12094 troy ounces of precious metal. This particular specimen is certified in Mint State 64 condition, preserving its original design details with remarkable clarity. On the obverse side, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is depicted. She wears a band inscribed with the word "LIBERTY" in her hair, surrounded by an arc of thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The reverse showcases a proud heraldic eagle with a protective shield draped across its chest. In its talons, the eagle holds symbols of national strength, encircled by the legend "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the face value of two and a half dollars. This enduring design was originally created by Christian Gobrecht.
