Struck at the San Francisco Mint during the nineteenth century, this impressive United States coin contains 0.9675 troy ounces of gold. It represents a classic era of American coinage, minted as part of a series that spanned from 1850 to 1907. This particular specimen has been graded Mint State 63 (MS-63), indicating its excellent state of preservation. Designed by James B. Longacre, the obverse of the coin features a profile of Lady Liberty. She is encircled by thirteen stars, representing the original colonies. The reverse showcases an eagle with its wings spread wide, holding a shield. Above the eagle, rays of light and another cluster of thirteen stars illuminate the design. The reverse also bears the inscriptions 'United States of America' and the denomination 'Twenty Dollars', along with the distinctive 'S' mint mark of the San Francisco facility.
