This specific coin, graded Mint State 63 (MS-63), is struck from 0.900 fine gold and contains 0.9675 troy ounces of the precious metal. Produced by the United States Mint, these large gold pieces were struck at facilities in Philadelphia, New Orleans, and San Francisco. On the obverse side, the profile of Lady Liberty is encircled by thirteen stars, representing the original colonies. The reverse showcases a powerful eagle with its wings spread wide, bearing a shield upon its breast. Above the eagle, thirteen stars are arranged in an oval pattern beneath a crown of rays. The reverse is also inscribed with the words United States of America and the denomination Twenty Dollars. This enduring design was created by James B. Longacre.
