2000-D Kennedy Half Dollar BU
The year 2000 Denver Mint half dollar stands as a modern tribute to a pivotal era in American coinage. Struck with a brilliant uncirculated finish, this fifty cent piece features a specialized metal composition consisting of a copper and nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper. The Denver origin is clearly marked on the coin with the letter D. On the obverse, the profile of John F. Kennedy faces left, a design created by Gilroy Roberts. The inscription IN GOD WE TRUST is prominently displayed beneath the portrait. The reverse side, designed by Frank Gasparro, presents a detailed heraldic eagle clutching a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing both strength and peace. The traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is integrated into this reverse design, which is completed by the denomination of HALF DOLLAR.
