2000-S New Hampshire State Quarter Gem Proof (Silver)

In the year 2000, the San Francisco Mint struck a beautiful silver edition of the quarter representing New Hampshire. This issue represents the ninth release in the celebrated 50 State Quarters Program. Crafted from 90 percent silver, the coin contains approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal, displaying the highly polished, reflective surfaces characteristic of a proof striking. The front of the quarter displays a portrait of George Washington in profile, a design originally created by John Flanagan and modified by William Cousins. On this side, the small 'S' mint mark is visible, indicating its origin at the San Francisco facility. The reverse side showcases the famous natural rock formation known as 'The Old Man of the Mountain'. Alongside this iconic stone profile, the design features the bold state motto, 'Live Free or Die', capturing the independent spirit of New Hampshire. The inscription 'E PLURIBUS UNUM' and the year 2000 are also clearly struck on this side, completing a memorable tribute to the Granite State.
