2001 1 oz American Silver Eagle BU

1.0000 troy oz .999 2001

The 2001 American Silver Eagle stands as a notable release within the United States Mint's premier silver series. Struck from one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, this legal tender dollar represents a continuation of a program first authorized by the Liberty Coin Act on July 9, 1985. Following that legislative milestone, the inaugural coins in the series made their debut on November 24, 1986. For the 2001 issue, the total worldwide production reached 9,001,711 pieces. On the obverse, the coin showcases a classic design by Adolph A. Weinman, featuring a graceful depiction of Lady Liberty in stride. The reverse presents a detailed heraldic eagle positioned beneath a cluster of 13 small stars, symbolizing the original colonies. Legible inscriptions on the coin include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, ONE DOLLAR, and the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. Each coin is fully backed and guaranteed by the United States government for its weight and purity.
