2001-D Rhode Island State Quarter BU

0.0000 troy oz 2001 Brilliant Unc

The 2001 Rhode Island quarter represents the thirteenth entry in the celebrated United States State Quarters Program. Struck at the Denver Mint, this particular coin is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, showcasing the sharp details of its copper and nickel clad composition, which is bonded to a core of pure copper. The obverse features a familiar profile of George Washington, originally designed by John Flanagan and engraved by William Cousins for this series. Alongside the portrait, the inscriptions include the national mottoes and the Denver mint mark. On the reverse, designer Thomas D. Rogers captures the maritime spirit of the Ocean State. A vintage sailboat glides across the waters of Narragansett Bay, set against the backdrop of the Pell Bridge. The design is framed by the state name, the year 1790 to mark its entry into the Union, the state nickname, and the year of coinage.
