The reverse side features a spirited horse captured in a trotting motion, a design created by Travis Farley. Alongside the animal, the reverse includes the traditional Chinese character representing the horse, the English inscription "Year of the Horse", and the "P" mint mark. On the obverse, the coin displays the elegant effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
