2003 1 oz American Silver Eagle BU

1.0000 troy oz .999 2003

The 2003 American Silver Eagle represents a continuing legacy in modern United States coinage. Struck from one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver, this dollar coin is part of an annual series that originally debuted on November 24, 1986. The entire program was established under the authority of the Liberty Coin Act, which was signed into law on July 9, 1985. For the year 2003, the United States Mint produced a total of 8,495,008 of these bullion pieces. The obverse of the coin features a graceful depiction of Lady Liberty draped in the American flag as she walks toward a rising sun emerging over a mountain ridge. This classic image is paired with a reverse design showcasing a detailed heraldic eagle positioned beneath a cluster of 13 small stars. The reverse inscriptions include indications of the coin's weight and purity, reading '1 OZ. FINE SILVER' and 'ONE DOLLAR', alongside the traditional motto 'E PLURIBUS UNUM'.
