In 2003, the Denver Mint struck a distinctive quarter dollar celebrating the natural abundance and unique treasures of Arkansas. This particular coin arrives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its original strike. The coin is composed of a copper and nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper, a standard composition for modern United States circulating coinage. The reverse side of the coin displays a rich landscape of the state, featuring a mallard duck in mid-flight above a serene lake. Flanking the water are stalks of rice, while a large polished diamond sits prominently in the center of the design. The inscriptions on this side include the state name, the year of its statehood (1836), the year of issue (2003), and the traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM". On the obverse, the familiar profile of George Washington faces left, accompanied by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "LIBERTY", "IN GOD WE TRUST", and the denomination "QUARTER DOLLAR". The small "D" mint mark is also visible, indicating its production at the Denver facility.
