0.0000 troy oz 2003 Brilliant Unc

In 2003, the United States Mint released a special quarter dollar honoring the state of Alabama. Struck at the Philadelphia facility, this coin features a distinct composition consisting of a copper and nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper. The obverse presents the familiar profile of George Washington, originally designed by John Flanagan, accompanied by the traditional inscriptions of LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. On the reverse, designer Norman Nemeth captured a powerful tribute to Helen Keller. Her figure is depicted alongside her name, which is uniquely spelled out in both standard English letters and raised Braille characters. The design also features a long leaf pine branch and delicate magnolia blossoms, representing Alabama's natural beauty. Accompanying these images is the inspiring phrase, THE SPIRIT OF COURAGE, making this a truly remarkable issue in the State Quarter series.
