The 2003 Kennedy half dollar, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, represents a modern continuation of one of America's most recognizable coin designs. This particular piece is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, showcasing the original mint luster and sharp details of the strike just as it appeared when leaving the coining press. On the obverse, the profile of President John F. Kennedy faces left, a design created by Gilroy Roberts. The inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" spans across the lower portion of the portrait, while the year 2003 is positioned at the bottom rim. A small "P" mint mark is located just above the date, indicating its origin at the Philadelphia facility. The reverse features the detailed heraldic eagle design by Frank Gasparro. The eagle holds a bundle of arrows in one claw and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing both strength and peace. The traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is displayed on a scroll above the eagle, while the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "HALF DOLLAR" frame the central design. Structurally, the coin is composed of a copper and nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper.
