2003-W 1/10 oz Proof American Gold Eagle PR-69 PCGS
The 2003 West Point minted proof gold coin presents a stunning visual narrative in a compact tenth-ounce format. Struck from 0.9167 fine gold, this five-dollar denomination piece showcases a brilliant contrast between frosted design elements and deeply mirrored fields, a finish graded at an exceptional Proof 69 Deep Cameo. On the obverse, a classic depiction of Lady Liberty strides forward, illuminated by the radiating rays of a rising sun. This design is adapted from the famous early twentieth-century gold double eagle. The reverse, created by Miley Busiek, captures a family of bald eagles. A male eagle is depicted in mid-flight, carrying an olive branch back to a nest where a female eagle and their young await. This side also bears the traditional national mottos, including the phrases celebrating trust and unity, alongside the coin's weight and face value.
