2004-W 1 oz Proof American Platinum Eagle (w/Box & COA)
In 2004, the West Point Mint produced a striking proof edition of the high-denomination platinum coin, containing one troy ounce of 0.9995 fine platinum. This modern issue is notable for its exceptionally low mintage, with only 6,007 of these precise pieces struck. The obverse of the coin showcases a powerful close-up of the Statue of Liberty. Accompanying this iconic image are the inscriptions "Liberty", "In God We Trust", "E Pluribus Unum", and the year 2004. For the reverse, designers drew inspiration from "America", a celebrated sculpture by Daniel Chester French. The reverse fields also display the coin's face value of 100 dollars, its weight of 1 oz., and its purity of 0.9995 platinum, alongside the name of the issuing nation, the United States of America.
