2005 1/4 oz Gold Eagle MS-69 PCGS (20th Anniversary)

0.2500 troy oz .9167 2005 MS-69 (PCGS)

This ten-dollar gold coin from 2005 represents a modern continuation of a celebrated United States series that first emerged in 1986. Struck at the West Point facility, this particular piece contains a quarter-ounce of gold and has been certified in an exceptional Mint State 69 condition, indicating its nearly flawless preservation. The front of the coin showcases a legendary design adapted from the historic Gold Double Eagle by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. It depicts Liberty in stride, illuminated by the rays of a rising sun. On the opposite side, a detailed composition by Miley Busiek portrays a family of bald eagles, with a male bird carrying an olive branch back to a nest where a female and their young await. Legible inscriptions on the surface include the year 2005, the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the traditional mottos IN GOD WE TRUST and E PLURIBUS UNUM, as well as the denomination and metal weight designations.
