2005 American Silver Eagle MS-69 NGC (First Strike)

1.0000 troy oz .999 2005 NGC

The 2005 American Silver Eagle stands as a remarkable example of modern United States coinage, containing one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver. This dollar coin is part of a celebrated series spanning the years 1986 to 2021, backed by the official guarantee of the United States Mint. This specific piece has been certified in an exceptional MS-69 condition, highlighting the crispness of its details. On the obverse, the design showcases a graceful depiction of Lady Liberty in mid-stride, an artistic creation by Adolph A. Weinman that originally debuted on the Walking Liberty half dollar. The figure moves toward the dawn of a new day, wrapped in the folds of the American flag. The legible inscriptions on this side include the word LIBERTY, the year 2005, and the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse side, crafted by John Mercanti, presents a striking heraldic eagle that draws inspiration from the Great Seal of the United States. The eagle holds a ribbon inscribed with E PLURIBUS UNUM in its beak, while its talons grasp an olive branch and arrows, representing peace and strength. Above the eagle, a cluster of 13 small stars forms a triangular pattern, representing the original colonies. Surrounding this central image are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination 1 OZ. FINE SILVER ONE DOLLAR.
