2005-P Minnesota State Quarter BU
The 2005 Philadelphia Mint quarter celebrates the natural beauty of Minnesota. Struck in a copper and nickel composition bonded to a pure copper core, this coin is preserved in brilliant uncirculated condition. The design captures the essence of the state's wilderness, showcasing a detailed map outline textured to stand out against the background. On the reverse, two figures fish from a boat on a serene, tree-lined lake, while a loon floats gracefully in the foreground. This side features the inscriptions MINNESOTA, LAND OF 10,000 LAKES, and the year 2005, along with the national motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The artwork was designed by Charles L. Vickers. The obverse displays the classic profile of George Washington, originally designed by John Flanagan. Surrounding the portrait are the familiar inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the denomination QUARTER DOLLAR. The small P mint mark indicates this piece was struck at the Philadelphia Mint.
