The 2005-S Kansas State Quarter represents a beautiful fusion of natural imagery and classic American numismatic design. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this coin features a highly polished Gem Proof finish, which highlights the sharp contrast between the frosted details and the mirror-like fields. The composition of the coin consists of a copper-nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper. On the obverse, the quarter displays the traditional profile of George Washington, originally designed by John Flanagan. Surrounding the portrait are the familiar inscriptions of LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the denomination, QUARTER DOLLAR.
