2006-D Colorado State Quarter BU
In 2006, the United States Mint celebrated the rugged beauty of the Centennial State with the release of the Colorado quarter. This particular coin, struck at the Denver Mint and bearing the 'D' mint mark, is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. It showcases a composition made of a pure copper core bonded to an outer layer of copper and nickel. The reverse side of the coin captures the majestic spirit of the American West. It features the towering peaks of the Rocky Mountains, framed by a resilient evergreen tree. Below this scenic landscape, a flowing banner displays the phrase 'Colorful Colorado'. The inscriptions on this side also include the state name, the year of issue 2006, and the traditional national motto 'E PLURIBUS UNUM'. On the obverse, the coin displays the familiar profile of George Washington. This classic portrait is accompanied by the essential inscriptions 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA', 'QUARTER DOLLAR', 'LIBERTY', and 'IN GOD WE TRUST'. Together, these designs create a striking tribute to one of the nation's most geographically diverse states.
