2006-W 1/4 oz Burnished Gold Eagle MS/SP-69 NGC (Early Release)

0.2500 troy oz .9167 2006 NGC

The 2006 West Point minted coin offers a distinctive burnished finish, presenting a satin-like texture that sets it apart from standard bullion. Struck from a quarter ounce of gold, this ten dollar denomination piece represents a specialized production method from the United States Mint, resulting in a limited release of only 15,188 pieces globally. On the front of the coin, the design adapts the classic imagery of Lady Liberty walking forward, holding a lit torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. This iconic figure is framed by the year 2006 and the West Point mintmark. The reverse side, created by artist Miley Busiek, depicts a family of eagles, showing a male bird in flight carrying an olive branch over a nest containing a female eagle and her young. Legible inscriptions on this side include the national mottos, the country of origin, the weight, and the face value.
