The obverse displays a classic depiction of Lady Liberty walking forward, set against a backdrop of radiating sunbeams. This iconic image is adapted from the famous early twentieth-century gold double eagle design. On the reverse, a detailed scene unfolds showing a male bald eagle soaring through the air, carrying an olive branch back to a nest where a female eagle and her young wait.
