Introduced in 1986, the American Gold Eagle series has become a cornerstone of modern coinage. This 2007 issue contains one-quarter ounce of pure gold content, representing a year with a notably low mintage of just 34,004 pieces. Each coin has been officially graded in Mint State 69, representing an exceptionally well-preserved specimen of this popular denomination. The obverse of the coin displays a classic design originally created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the double eagle. It portrays Lady Liberty striding forward with the warm rays of a rising sun behind her. The reverse, designed by Miley Busiek, captures a detailed family scene of bald eagles, showing a male eagle carrying an olive branch back to a nest containing a female and their young. Legible inscriptions on the coin include the year 2007, the national mottoes "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM", along with the face value of 10 DOLLARS. The reverse also notes the metal content and the issuing country, the United States of America.
