The 2007 American Silver Eagle stands as a striking example of United States coinage, carrying one troy ounce of 0.999 fine silver. Backed by the United States Mint, this dollar coin belongs to a celebrated bullion initiative that first commenced in 1986, offering both weight and metal purity guaranteed by the government. On the obverse, the figure of Lady Liberty is depicted in mid-stride, draped in the American flag as she walks toward the dawn. This graceful image was originally conceived in 1916 by artist Adolph A. Weinman. The front of the coin also displays the date 2007 and the traditional phrase IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse side, created by sculptor John Mercanti, presents a bold heraldic eagle that draws inspiration from the Great Seal of the United States. Clutched in the eagle's talons are arrows and an olive branch, while its beak holds a ribbon inscribed with E PLURIBUS UNUM. Hovering above the bird are 13 stars representing the original colonies.
