The 2007 Montana quarter brings a piece of the American West to life. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin features a distinctive copper and nickel composition bonded directly to a core of pure copper. It remains in brilliant uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its design just as it looked when it first emerged from the minting press. On the obverse side, the classic profile of George Washington is displayed. This side carries the familiar inscriptions of "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the denomination "QUARTER DOLLAR." The small "P" mint mark is also visible, indicating its origin in Philadelphia. The reverse side of the coin captures the vast, open spirit of the state. A detailed bison skull rests in the foreground, set against a sweeping Montana landscape. Above this scene, the inscription "BIG SKY COUNTRY" is proudly displayed, alongside the state name and the year 1889, marking Montana's entry into the Union. The national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and the release year of 2007 anchor the bottom of the design.
