2007-S Utah State Quarter Gem Proof (Silver)
This 2007 silver quarter, struck at the San Francisco Mint, celebrates the state of Utah with a highly detailed and symbolic reverse design. Crafted from 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal, this coin is struck in a brilliant proof finish that highlights the contrast between its frosted details and mirror-like fields. The reverse of the coin features a dramatic depiction of the historic moment when the Central Pacific and Union Pacific railroads met. Two locomotives face each other, separated by the famous golden spike that joined the tracks to create a transcontinental link. This scene is accompanied by the inscription "CROSSROADS OF THE WEST" and the statehood year of 1896, alongside the coin's issue year of 2007. On the obverse, the familiar profile of George Washington is rendered in sharp relief. The front of the coin also displays the traditional inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "QUARTER DOLLAR," along with the "S" mint mark indicating its origin in San Francisco.
