0.1000 troy oz .9167 2007 NGC

In 2007, the West Point Mint produced a special version of its smallest gold piece, featuring a distinctive burnished finish. This tenth-ounce coin, struck in 0.9167 fine gold with a face value of five dollars, belongs to a celebrated series that first debuted in 1986. With a limited mintage of just 22,501 pieces, this particular specimen has been professionally certified in an exceptional Mint State 69 condition. The front of the coin displays a classic representation of Lady Liberty, an image originally created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the double eagle coin. On the back, a detailed scene designed by Miley Busiek depicts a family of bald eagles, showing one bird in mid-flight carrying an olive branch toward a nest containing a female and their young. Legible inscriptions on the reverse include the national mottos IN GOD WE TRUST and E PLURIBUS UNUM, alongside the country of issue, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
