The obverse features a classic design adapted from the historic Gold Double Eagle by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Lady Liberty is depicted walking forward, bathed in the rays of a rising sun. The reverse, designed by Miley Busiek, presents a powerful family scene of a male bald eagle returning to a nest containing a female and their young, carrying an olive branch in its talons. Inscribed on the coin are the traditional mottos IN GOD WE TRUST and E PLURIBUS UNUM, alongside the country of issue, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The reverse also notes the coin's face value of 5 DOLLARS and its metal content, marking this low-mintage issue of just 20,643 pieces as a remarkable example of American numismatic artistry.
