2007-W 1/2 oz Proof Gold Martha Washington PF-69 NGC
Struck at the West Point Mint, this modern ten dollar coin is composed of a half ounce of 0.9999 fine gold. Certified in Proof 69 Ultra Cameo, the coin pays tribute to Martha Washington, who is recognized as the mother of the United States. The obverse displays a portrait of the first First Lady, framed by the inscriptions of her name, the year 2007, and the traditional mottoes of liberty and trust. The reverse of the coin features a narrative design by Susan Gamble, sculpted by Don Everhart. It portrays Martha Washington diligently sewing a button onto the military uniform of her husband, George Washington. This scene recalls her time stationed with him during the brutal winter at Valley Forge, where she actively cared for the soldiers of the Continental Army. The reverse is inscribed with the country of origin, the face value of ten dollars, the gold weight, and the Latin phrase meaning out of many, one.
