2008-P Arizona State Quarter BU

0.0000 troy oz 2008 Brilliant Unc

The 2008 Arizona quarter, minted in Philadelphia, offers a striking visual tribute to the natural wonders of the American Southwest. This brilliant uncirculated coin features a dual-metal composition, consisting of a copper and nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper. The design captures the rugged beauty of the desert landscape, showcasing the state's most famous landmarks with remarkable clarity. On the reverse side, designed by Don Everhart, the grand majesty of the Grand Canyon unfolds in the background, while a towering saguaro cactus stands prominently in the foreground. A banner inscribed with the phrase "Grand Canyon State" sweeps across the scene, uniting these two iconic symbols of Arizona. The inscriptions "ARIZONA," the statehood year of "1912," the year of issue "2008," and the national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" are also clearly visible. The obverse of the coin displays John Flanagan's classic portrait of George Washington in profile. Surrounding the first president are the familiar inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the denomination "QUARTER DOLLAR." A small "P" mint mark is positioned on the obverse, indicating its origin from the Philadelphia Mint.
