In 2008, the United States Mint released a commemorative silver dollar celebrating one of the nation's most recognizable symbols. This particular specimen is certified in flawless Mint State 70 condition, highlighting the sharp details of its design. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver and has a total mintage of 294,601 pieces. The front of the coin displays a dynamic scene of a bald eagle gliding through the air. This obverse illustration was created by Joel Iskowitz and brought to life by sculptor Don Everhart. It captures the power and grace of the bird in mid-flight, accompanied by the traditional inscriptions "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the year "2008". On the back, the coin features a historic recreation of the very first Great Seal of the United States, which was utilized from 1782 to 1841. Sculpted by Jim Licaretz, this reverse design connects modern minting with early American history, displaying the classic eagle holding an olive branch and arrows, surrounded by the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR".
