2008-P Hawaii State Quarter BU

0.0000 troy oz 2008 Brilliant Unc

The 2008 Philadelphia Mint quarter celebrating Hawaii brings the natural beauty and royal heritage of the islands into sharp focus. Struck in a brilliant uncirculated finish, this coin features a composition of copper and nickel bonded directly to a core of pure copper. The obverse displays the familiar left facing portrait of George Washington, originally designed by John Flanagan. Legible inscriptions on this side include the national motto, the word liberty, and the denomination. On the reverse, the design by Don Everhart honors the state's history by depicting King Kamehameha I. The monarch stands with an outstretched hand pointing toward the eight primary islands of the Hawaiian archipelago. Below the king, the state motto is inscribed in the Hawaiian language, alongside the year of statehood, 1959, and the release year of 2008. This coin represents the final entry in the celebrated State Quarter series.
