Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this 2008 silver quarter honors the state of Oklahoma with a highly detailed and artistic reverse design. As a proof strike, it showcases a mirror-like finish that highlights the intricate details of both the obverse and reverse imagery. The reverse side of the coin features a dynamic scene depicting the Scissortail Flycatcher, Oklahoma's state bird, in mid-flight with its long tail feathers spread wide. Below the bird, a patch of Indian Blanket wildflowers blooms, representing the natural beauty of the region. The inscription "OKLAHOMA" sits at the top, while the year "2008" and the national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" are positioned at the bottom of the design. On the obverse, the familiar left-facing profile of George Washington is displayed. This classic portrait is accompanied by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the denomination "QUARTER DOLLAR."
