Crafted from one-tenth of an ounce of extremely pure 0.9999 fine gold, this particular coin features a distinct burnished finish. It has been graded in exceptional Mint State 69 condition, highlighting the crisp details of its historic imagery. The design of this modern issue is directly adapted from the famous 1913 Buffalo Nickel created by James Earle Fraser. The obverse presents a powerful portrait of a Native American, accompanied by the inscription LIBERTY, the year 2008, the designer's initial F, and the W mint mark signifying its West Point origin. The reverse showcases a majestic American bison, widely believed to be modeled after Black Diamond, a famous buffalo from the early twentieth century. Surrounding the animal are traditional inscriptions including UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and E PLURIBUS UNUM, alongside the coin's weight, purity, and face value of 5 dollars.
