2009 American Silver Eagle MS-69 NGC (Early Release)
The 2009 American Silver Eagle represents the twenty-third year of the United States Mint's signature silver bullion series, which first commenced in 1986. Struck with one troy ounce of 99.9 percent pure silver, this modern dollar coin showcases two of the nation's most celebrated numismatic designs. On the obverse, a graceful figure of Lady Liberty walks toward a rising sun, her form draped in the folds of the American flag. This iconic imagery was originally created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman. The front of the coin also displays the date 2009 and the traditional motto, IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse side, designed by John Mercanti, features a powerful heraldic eagle that mirrors the Great Seal of the United States. Positioned beneath a canopy of thirteen stars, the eagle grasps an olive branch in one talon and arrows in the other, while holding a banner in its beak inscribed with E PLURIBUS UNUM. The outer rim is marked with the country of origin, the face value of ONE DOLLAR, and the metal weight of 1 OZ. FINE SILVER.
