2009-D Kennedy Half Dollar BU
The 2009 Kennedy half dollar, struck at the Denver Mint, represents a modern continuation of one of America's most recognizable coin designs. This particular specimen survives in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its original strike just as it appeared when leaving the coining press. On the obverse, the profile of President John F. Kennedy faces left, a design created by Gilroy Roberts. The inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" is positioned below the portrait, alongside the Denver "D" mint mark. The reverse side, designed by Frank Gasparro, features a detailed heraldic eagle. The eagle holds a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing both strength and peace. The traditional Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is displayed above the eagle, while the denomination "HALF DOLLAR" is anchored at the bottom. This coin is composed of a copper and nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper.
