This intriguing modern issue from 2009 celebrates the fifteenth anniversary of the Isle of Man's noble series, which first debuted in 1994. Struck by the Pobjoy Mint, this sovereign coin is legally backed by the government of the Isle of Man and carries a face value of one noble. It features a unique bi-metallic composition, combining exactly one troy ounce of 0.999 fine gold with 9.39 grams of 0.999 fine silver. The design of the coin draws inspiration from fourteenth-century English nobles that depicted King Edward III standing in a ship. On the reverse, a detailed Viking ship sails across the water, accompanied by a special privy mark displaying the number 15 to mark the anniversary. The reverse also displays the weight and the face value of the piece. This particular specimen has been certified in Proof 69 condition, indicating its exceptional preservation and sharp, mirror-like details.
