In 2010, a new era of pocket-sized exploration began with the launch of the America the Beautiful Quarters series. This Denver-minted specimen highlights Hot Springs National Park, an Arkansas sanctuary that holds the distinction of being the smallest national park in the United States. Long before its modern designation, the area was set aside by an act of Congress on April 20, 1832, to protect its unique thermal waters. The reverse side of this quarter captures the spirit of the park, showcasing the grand facade of the Hot Springs National Park headquarters building. In front of the structure, a thermal fountain bubbles up, representing the natural warm springs that define the location. This detailed scene is framed by the inscriptions "Hot Springs," "Arkansas," "2010," and "E Pluribus Unum." On the obverse, the familiar profile of George Washington anchors the design. Surrounding the portrait are the classic inscriptions "United States of America," "Liberty," "In God We Trust," and the denomination "Quarter Dollar." A small "D" mint mark indicates its origin from the Denver Mint, preserved in brilliant uncirculated condition.
