In 2010, the United States introduced a remarkably large format for its national park celebrations, striking five ounces of 0.999 fine silver into a single impressive coin. This particular specimen is a collector-edition issue from the Philadelphia Mint, distinguished by its 'P' mint mark and a specialized matte finish that was carefully applied to the surfaces after the striking process was complete. With a limited mintage of 27,000 pieces, this issue has been certified in perfect Specimen 70 condition. The reverse side of the coin captures a classic scene of the American West, depicting a massive bison standing before the erupting waters of the Old Faithful geyser. This detailed wilderness scene is framed by the inscriptions 'Yellowstone', 'Wyoming', '2010', and the traditional motto 'E Pluribus Unum'.
