2011 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle MS-70 PCGS (25th Anniversary FS)
The 2011 fractional Gold American Eagle is a remarkable example of modern United States coining, containing one tenth of an ounce of gold. This particular specimen has achieved the highest possible grading of Mint State 70, indicating its flawless condition and exceptional preservation. On the obverse, the design presents a powerful figure of Lady Liberty moving forward, set against a backdrop of radiating sunbeams. This imagery is adapted from the historic gold double eagle design first created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Legible inscriptions on this side include the date of 2011 and the motto "LIBERTY". The reverse of the coin features a detailed family scene of bald eagles, depicting a male eagle soaring through the air while carrying an olive branch back to a nest containing a female eagle and their young. Surrounding this scene are the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "E PLURIBUS UNUM", "IN GOD WE TRUST", and the face value of "5 DOLLARS". Additional text details the weight and purity, reading "1/10 OZ. FINE GOLD".
