2011 Canada 1 oz Silver $20 Wild Rose Flower Crystal Dewdrops
2011 Canada 1 oz Silver $20 Wild Rose Flower Crystal Dewdrops
This 2011 release from the Royal Canadian Mint represents the second entry in the celebrated Crystal Dewdrop Flowers collection. Struck from one ounce of 99.99 percent pure silver, the coin showcases a colored depiction of two wild roses accompanied by a single bud. To simulate the look of fresh morning dew, the reverse design is embellished with three sparkling Swarovski elements placed carefully on the petals. The obverse displays the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt, surrounded by the inscriptions ELIZABETH II and D. G. REGINA. On the reverse, the bilingual text identifies the subject as the Wild Rose, or L'églantine. This legal tender issue has a limited mintage of 10,000 pieces and belongs to a botanical series that also includes the 2010 Lily Lotus and the 2012 Rhododendron coins. The accompanying certificate of authenticity provides fascinating details regarding the traditional medicinal applications of the wild rose.
