The 2011 Kennedy half dollar, struck at the Denver Mint, represents a modern continuation of one of America's most recognizable circulating coin designs. This particular issue remains in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the sharp details of its original strike just as it appeared when leaving the coining press. On the obverse, the profile of President John F. Kennedy faces left, a design created by Gilroy Roberts. The inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" is positioned below the bust, while the mint mark "D" is clearly visible above the date of 2011, denoting its origin in Denver. Frank Gasparro designed the reverse, which features a detailed heraldic eagle. The eagle holds a bundle of arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing both strength and peace. The traditional motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is displayed on a scroll, surrounded by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the face value of "HALF DOLLAR". Unlike early silver issues in this series, this modern coin is composed of a copper and nickel outer layer bonded to a core of pure copper.
