2011-P 9/11 National Medal Proof (w/Box & COA)
Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this modern silver medal serves as a solemn tribute to the resilience, bravery, and selflessness shown during the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Authorized by federal legislation that permitted a maximum production of two million pieces, the commemorative issue contains one troy ounce of 90 percent pure silver, finished to proof standards. Both sides of this commemorative piece were created by artist Donna Weaver. The front features a depiction of Lady Liberty cradling the Lamp of Remembrance, accompanied by the inscriptions "HONOR" and "HOPE" alongside "September 11 National Medal". The reverse displays an eagle set against a background of flowing water, symbolizing renewal alongside the words "ALWAYS REMEMBER" and "2001 2011".
