In 2011, the United States Mint continued its celebration of national parks and historic sites with a beautiful silver quarter dedicated to the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Oklahoma. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing approximately 0.1788 troy ounces of precious metal. It is preserved in Gem Proof condition, displaying the sharp details and mirrored fields characteristic of specialized proof strikes. The reverse design highlights the historic Lincoln Bridge, a limestone structure dedicated in 1909 to mark the birth of the 16th U.S. president. This side of the coin also features the inscriptions CHICKASAW, OKLAHOMA, and the traditional national motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, alongside the 2011 year of issue. On the obverse, the classic portrait of Liberty is accompanied by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the denomination, QUARTER DOLLAR. The small S mint mark denotes its origin from the San Francisco facility.
