2012 American Silver Eagle MS-69 NGC (Early Release)
Introduced in 1986, the American Silver Eagle series has become a cornerstone of modern coinage. This 2012 edition represents the twenty-sixth year of the United States Mint's annual bullion initiative, delivering one full troy ounce of 99.9 percent pure silver with official backing from the government. The front of the coin showcases a legendary design by Adolph A. Weinman. It portrays Lady Liberty in mid-stride, draped in the American flag as she moves toward a rising sun. Legible inscriptions on this side include the year 2012 and the phrase IN GOD WE TRUST. On the reverse side, designed by John Mercanti, a majestic heraldic eagle is displayed in a style reminiscent of the Great Seal of the United States. The eagle clasps an olive branch and a cluster of arrows in its talons while holding a ribbon in its beak. Hovering above the bird are thirteen stars arranged to symbolize the original colonies. The reverse inscriptions confirm the country of origin, the face value of ONE DOLLAR, and the weight of the precious metal.
