The 2012 Australian Kookaburra silver coin stands out for its substantial physical presence, containing a full kilogram of 0.999 fine silver. This massive piece, equivalent to 32.15 troy ounces, showcases the native bird of Australia in a highly detailed presentation, struck at the Perth Mint under the authority of the Australian government. The reverse side of the coin features a kookaburra with an open beak, perched on a branch surrounded by eucalyptus foliage. Designed by Darryl Bellotti, this side includes the inscriptions 'AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA' and the details '2012 1KILO 999 SILVER'. On the obverse, the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, created by Ian Rank-Broadley, is displayed.
